Layering for travel

Whether you're crossing time zones or heading into the hills, the secret to comfortable travel lies in layering. Natural fibres like merino and silk are your best allies — lightweight, temperature-regulating, and odour-resistant, they work harder so you can pack lighter.

The base layer

Start with a fine merino or silk base layer that sits close to the skin. These fibres wick moisture and regulate temperature, keeping you cool in transit and warm at altitude. A silk camisole or merino long-sleeve top takes up almost no space in your bag.

The mid layer

Add a possum-merino sweater or bamboo long-sleeve for insulation. These natural blends trap warmth without bulk — perfect for flights, early mornings, or air-conditioned airports.

The outer layer

Finish with a windproof shell or wool jacket. The beauty of natural-fibre layering is adaptability: peel off or add on as the day changes, without overheating or carrying excess weight.

Travel smarter. Layer naturally.
